I couldn’t hold it off any longer, I had to one of my favourite underground bands as a teen (the other is next week by the way), and I think it’s quite fitting it’s a live video as I knew them more as a live band rather than their CDs.
Seeming as it’s the only video I could find, it’s ‘Set It Off’ live by SolaBeat Alliance. Wasn’t my up most favourite song by them, that is actually ‘Tongue Tied’ held under their old name of SpankBoy… yes, we all knew why their name changed, it’s probably the same reason that when you do a search for “spank boy” you get some odd stuff coming through.
But yes, they where the ultimate in feel good ska without resorting to Christian themes, more focusing on island live style of the Caribbean desipite coming from Hayling Island (from what I’m aware of). Don’t beleive the whole feel good aspect of them, look at that crowed! They are all pogoing! Also, it was always like a party of the stage, even at The Joiners where I first saw them, and that stage is only about 6 foot deep!
Unforgivable information on the net is far and few between on the net as they split up around 2005 if I remember correctly, but while they were around I loved them!
If anybody reading this has any idea on what the former members are doing now then please let me know.
